I'd be happy to lead a conversation on how to make public transport more desirable. The question I'm trying to answer is why people are so attached to their cars, and how we might make people feel that way about public transport. I have a few ideas which could kick off some debate.

All,
Lots of people have completed the Doodle poll.

The most popular dates for the next three months are October 28th, November 18th and December 16th. Can you confirm those dates with Manchester Digital Agency Paul?

Just to recap some people have volunteered to talk if people can commit to any of those three dates that would be great or if anyone else wants to volunteer. The November date is nearest to World Usability day so if anyone can talk on a transport theme then that would be great.

Mike Unwalla – Controlled Language
Tero Vaananen– Card sorting and possibly mobile devices (In the new year)
Rachel Johnston – Open Source Software
Nick Rosenthal - internationalisation / localisation issues of usability.
Peter Bagnall - designing for older people, concept public transport system
Nick Day User experience in CMS systems

If you have not attended a meeting before here’s some more information about the group http://northern-user-experience.org/about/.

Thanks
